The world can now be divided into two categories – those who were instinctively comfortable with technology and those who are not. Life is very good for those who are comfortable with new technologies. They do not need any formal assistance for help when it comes to checking out new technologies. Some don’t even bother to go through the product description and manuals offered by manufacturers. They prefer a hands on approach where they learn by trial and error. What is more, the lessons that they learn are never forgotten.
Such technology friendly persons fail to understand how anybody can have a difficulty in using such devices. However, for those who do not have a technological bent of mind often find it impossible to use these devices easily. It is not just a question of age or physical faculties alone. A person who has poor vision may find it difficult to use the small keyboard of a tablet computer. However, even those who are young and are supposed to be technology friendly find it difficult to assimilate the drastic and rapid changes.
The best example of improvement in technology causing more harm than good for such individuals is the shift from Windows XP to Windows 7. There are many persons who are comfortable with the former option as compared to the latter despite the fact that years have passed since the upgrade. Soon, there will come a time when Windows XP will no longer enjoy official Microsoft support. When that happens, such individuals are going to find it difficult to use the computer. Newer technologies not always translate into a convenient experience for individuals.
